About Girls and Guitars
Girls and Guitars is a music organization for female singer-songwriter/guitarists. We provide showcases and events, educational opportunities, and a supportive community to our members.
Our primary network is women of color as we work to widen the lane to further diversify the guitar world. We are a faith-based organization that uses our platform to promote hope, unity, and inspiration.
A LITTLE HISTORY:
Our journey began in 2016 with independent artist, Kyla Simone, who curiously went on a search to connect with other artists who shared a similar passion for songwriting and guitar. Little did she know God was putting together the pieces of a puzzle, organically shaping a vision that would quickly take root and grow into the movement that is now Girls and Guitars.
Since its birth, Girls and Guitars has hosted numerous showcases, providing a performance platform to over 50 artists. This year our events went virtual with our "6 Strings of Hope" concert series. In an effort to continue to grow our community we also began hosting "Circle of Fifths"a support group for female singer-songwriter/guitarists that meets monthly on Zoom.
SO WHAT'S NEXT?
We are in the developmental stages of Girls and Guitars University. This online hub will provide music education and artist development resources. Our artist members will have access to instructional videos, exclusive workshops, downloadable resources, products, special discounts, and whatever else we can imagine up to help artists rise.
